I love that Pastor John has been so faithful about coming and sharing the love of Jesus for so long, at our community!! I wish I worked on Wednesdays! Thank you Pastor John for your mission outreach!

Meet Paul, Cortland Howell Director of Culinary. Paul grew up around Bancroft, MI. It is halfway between Flint and Lansing. He graduated from Morrice High School. Paul loves being outside no matter time of year.

Paul started cooking at home when he was 12 or 13 because his parents worked days. He started cooking at a coney island restaurant when he was 14. Paul had a lot of fun cooking, so he stayed with it. He worked in other restaurants around the area for a few years. Paul started working in healthcare and realized it was more rewarding cooking for the residents than it was in a restaurant. He has worked in healthcare for 24 years. Paul worked in Perry, Lansing, and in St. Johns MI. He has been cooking for around 40 years between restaurants and healthcare

When Pauls son was born, he started thinking about what I was going to do with my life and decided he was going to cook. He attended Mott Community College for a Culinary Arts and Food Service Management degree. He wanted the degree so he would have more knowledge and the papers to find a job that could turn into a career instead of just cooking.

Paul brings so much knowledge and talent to The Cortland Howell, we are thankful for such an amazing Chef.

Had the pleasure of touring this facility and was amazed. After experiences with other similar type care facilities I was anxious… But I have to say, this is a place I would want to live! Their staff is so friendly and genuinely caring, the facility is super clean, and oh my- their chef… amazing! THIS IS NOT YOUR STEREOTYPICAL “NURSING HOME”!!! No smells, pleasant employees and residents, amazing food, activities and programs, plus work with charitable organizations- what more could you ask for? You owe it to yourself and your loved ones to check this place out.

Took excellent care of my aunt. She was treated with respect and dignity by the entire staff. They went above and beyond in her care. They communicated very well with our family so we were always kept informed of her condition. I would highly recommend.
